FAQ

How do I get started in an apprenticeship program?

As apprenticeship programs are made up of related-technical-instruction (RTI) and on-the-job-training (OJT), you must be employed to get started as an apprentice. ABCI can offer assistance with employment should you need it. Contact us for more information.

How long are the apprenticeship programs you offer?

Roofing is 2 years. Line Erector is 3 years. HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Sprinkler are 4 year programs.

How much does apprenticeship education cost me (the apprentice)?

Nothing. That’s right, you will pay nothing for your apprenticeship training. In fact, in the state of Florida, employers are required to pay for students' tuition. Your employer will pay a small administrative fee annually for your education.

Why apprenticeship vs. college?

Construction careers in today’s market are all about high-tech, high-stakes, huge earning potential, and the opportunity to travel the world while earning a great income. As an apprentice you get paid a salary while you learn, and your employer pays your tuition.
